Call for Proposals 2023 

Scotland in Europe

 

The Scottish Universities Insight Institute (SUII) is a joint venture of Higher Education Institutions, which provides financial and logistical support to knowledge exchange projects aimed at improving policy and practice in Scotland and beyond.

 

 

The Call

SUII’s next themed call will focus on building, maintaining and deepening relationships with European partners in a post Brexit environmentScotland Europa will partner with SUII in supporting and co-investing in this programme. The aim will be to share knowledge across Europe, learn from the experience of others and promote innovation and good practice. In particular applications will be welcomed which build on these relationships to:

  • contribute to Europe’s economic, environmental and social development
  • help ensure post Brexit arrangements are as effective and efficient as possible

 

 

 

Application criteria

Applications are invited from teams whose composition reflects the multi-discipline and multi-sector remit of the Institute. Applicants must include members from at least two SUII partner universities[i]

Project teams should include academics and policy makers and practitioners. Ideally non-academic partners will be involved in the development phase of proposals to help ensure they are demand led. SUII projects also offer the opportunity to draw on international expertise and experience, which will be particularly important in this call.

Application process

Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest prior to submitting a full proposal. Expressions of interest are invited by 21 April, with the deadline for full applications on 26 May (12pm). Proposals will be considered by SUII’s Programme Committee in June. Projects are anticipated to begin in the late summer/autumn of 2023. It is anticipated that projects will run for around six months.
