The opening event in the series was a tea-time meeting held at the Insight Institute, Collins Building, Richmond St, Glasgow on the afternoon of Monday 13th March, 2017.

The key contributors to this dialogue were Professor Joanna Shapland of the University of Sheffield, who is a major international figure in victimology and RJ research, as well as convenor of the Restorative Justice Forum (Scotland). Joanna reviewed what research is telling us about RJ.

Formerly based at the University of Ulster, Belfast, Tim Chapman is currently chair of the European Forum on Restorative Justice and is a prominent thinker and practice trainer in the field. He has also worked as a consultant in relation to various aspects of youth justice in Scotland.

Participants had the opportunity to question the key contributors and to exchange views across the room.
